Smooth Paths For The New Decade
From Isaiah Chapter 40 verse 4 reads as follows from the New King James version of the Bible:
4 Every valley shall be exalted
And every mountain and hill brought low;
The crooked places shall be made straight
And the rough places smooth;
The words in this verse are firm, shall be made and shall be exalted are both in line with firm edicts.
The "shall be made" highlights that this is occurring from the creative presence of the Lord to the specifics.
Indeed a lot of people have had rough stretches in any number of significant areas of their lives in this past decade.
But that doesn't mean that destiny must be served along these lines. There is another way, another call and another vision..
The rough places made smooth means that the rough places in effect are being called out of existence.
You may on a path of bewilderment or indeed a rough stretch and this may have you thinking this is the way it is and must be and acceptance is the first order of the day.
Things can be rough even the in the matter of weather, or in many other areas of life things can be like being in the rough on a golf course, on a rough trail hiking, or being in the rough and tumble of the ups and downs of the day and indeed the sailing isn't exactly smooth.
You might be so used to things going a certain way, that the roughness of things doesn't even register that way, you don't even feel like its rough because it has been that way for so long and you are just trying to make it through without have a clear understanding of what smooth sailing could ever be like..
These words from Isaiah are a source of encouragement and hope.
There can be smooth work, smooth finances, smooth relationships, smooth worship, smooth contemplations, smooth dialogue, smooth weather, smooth days, weeks, years and lifetimes all with the help and presence of the Lord according to this verse in Isaiah.
First is the view that the Lord may view your situation as rough, even if you have long past sailed by that term and have just adjusted to the way things are, but of course probably with both lessened expectations as to what you can do and where you can go because the rough surface and rough interior of things has been and is being dealt with and you can only get so far in this scenario.
Doors may seem to be partially or even permanently closed because you have had so much trouble navigating the rough roads you seem stuck with that you haven't set you sights on other things that are seemingly undoable or unapproachable for the way you feel now and how things have been going for you as you believe you will never get out of these rough edges of difficulties. .
You may have the attitude that I have to tough this out; however; this may not be in agreement with the principle of these scriptures as it is now time to walk in another way according to this verse and the Lord himself may specifically want you to get off this rough road.
The Lord may want the engines running smoothly as he has some other purpose other than what you are dealing with on the long standing rough road and the sights of the Lord have you heading off these rough roads and in another brighter, smoother direction. .
If indeed you are and have been on a rough road, you need to consider a checkpoint with the Lord, the question being does He really want you here and want you to be in this present state of constantly dealing with the rough and tumble, or does he want you on some other smooth road and smooth ways for some other purpose of his and as part of his new and exciting plan for you where you can now be free to better unleash your gifts for both yourself and others.
Grit and determination and the ability to handle the roughness may be good, but it may be unnecessary and it may be off or away from what you are being called to do.
If you are in rough straights, rough patches, you need to work with the Lord in the consultation of prayer and meditation as to where he wants you to be and deal with the chance or probability that he wants you off this rough road in many cases.
Indeed there needs to be an openness to smoothness and the rough ride might be limiting or inhibiting you spiritually and in other practical ways.
The situation, considered rough or involving roughness, is a point of prayer and consultation and discernment as to whether this needs to be.
It may be that several or even many things need to happen to smooth things over but the Lord is talking about outright smoothness and He can bright forth all that it takes to bring this smoothness that is spoken of in Isaiah. Many things might have to give in to turn the situation around and bring about smoothness but the Lord can deal with many things, not just one thing.
Ask about the smoothness, as it is part of the ways of leadership of the Holy Spirit, and it is an important part of the discernment process in going forward into the future.
There is a smooth way and smooth path that is and will often be the better way. The Lord wants you to find it and live it and walk it, in many cases.
Whenever and wherever you are flying through the rough patches, you need to question whether you are called to be there in the first place.
There is no need to test yourself or go with unnecessary roughness when the Lord is offering otherwise.
In the process of discernment as to what the Lord wants, where he is leading you and how you can best blossom in the ongoing presence of this grace and wishes for you, this special verse and special words from Isaiah can be remembered and contemplated in every prayer and meditation session as you work with the leading and guidance of the Lord into a new and better future
For a fresh outlook and a fresh hope for the new decade, there can be hope that these smooth paths of the Lord can be searched and found, knowing that it is the actions of the Lord that precedes this as he is always the first mover and shaker and he can do it, he can and if fact in many cases wants you off those rough roads you have been on and wants to find and live in those smooth paths of grace waiting for you in the path of glory.

My family has dark brown hair and I was wondering if that would change how the smooth away feels?
Somebody answered my question about if the smooth away hurts or not about a month ago but I wondered if it changed how it feels with dark brown hair.
I have very dark brown hair and I used Smooth Away. Didn't hurt or feel weird or anything. I don't think the color of your hair has anything to do with it.
However! Smooth Away ain't worth the money. It takes forever and a day to get any hair off. I wouldn't recommend using it, no matter what color your hair is.
