What is the difference between a personal care worker and a certified nursing assistant?
In terms of job descriptions, not much.
CNAs are certified by the state and have training requirements - this might not be the case with personal care workers depending on the state. It also depends on where you work. Some places like nursing homes are required by law to have CNAs on their payroll because they're healthcare facilities. An assisted living that is supposed to feel more home-like might use a term like personal care worker because "nursing assistant" sounds too much like a hospital.
