convert my motorcycle to electric power?
I would like to put a rechargeable electric motor on one of my motorcycles. "Becoming more Green", How do I convert a 7000 lb 110 electric boat wench to accomplish this task? The bike is an 1980 Suzuki GS 1000 L.

That's $1000 for 34HP...
Then you need a controller. Lets assume you need the 34 HP brushless motor.

That's $1300 for a controller that will handle your motor.
Then you need 72V of batteries. I would recommend using either Lithium Polymer or Nickel Metal Hydride.

These are $35 each at 3.7V and 10Ah. You need 72V so that would be 20 cells for 74V and 10Ah.
But you need more capacity than 10Ah. That would only get you maybe 10 miles. In order to have a 100 mile range you would need more like 200 cells, which would be $7000 for 74V ans 100Ah (all-battery.com will give you a huge discount for an order like that if you call sales).

For a battery comparable to the 100 mile range Lithium one above, it would be about for 450 F size batteries. $5563 These weigh a lot more.
Then you need a charger. Good luck.
I bought a Hyperion DUO smart charger for my 12 cell LiPoly pack for a scooter but if you have 200 cells you can't just buy 17 Hyperion chargers (they are $230 each and each require at least a $100 DC power source).
So it's going to be expensive and possibly very educational.
