calligraphy pen query...?
I am interested in calligraphy and planning to learn this beautiful art. For buying calligraphy pen which pen should i consider - a dip nib or a cartridge nib pen?? which one is better and why?
i prefer dip nibs better, but that's just me
sure, cartridge pens are much less of a hassle because you don't have to keep dipping them. but dip nibs provide a wider range of inks. i love india ink and i know you cannot have india ink in cartridge pens because they clog or something. dip nibs are also easily replaceable and cheap. all you need is one nib holder (though it's a lot easier to have more than one holder which is also very cheap) and unlimited amounts of different styled nibs, around 2 dollars or less?
they pretty much are used the same, though. it really depends on your preference and which types of inks you will use
