Bobbi Brown shimmer brick?
Hi on the bobbi brown website it says to use the shimmer brick over blusher. I thought that it was blusher can you use it as a blusher? Would you reccommend it?
The shimmer brick can be used for so many things it's ridiculous. Here's a few:
1. Blusher for a glowy look (can be too sheer for some faces so you may need to apply a regular blush underneath to give it a base color)
2. Highlighter for the face and body
3. Eyeshadow
4. Luminous eyeliner when each color is used individually.
You can actually do an entire face with one shimmer brick. My favorite is the Bronze but the new sandstone and the apricot and rose also look very versatile. The others look more like strict highlighters. To create a full look with a shimmer brick:
1. Take the lightest shimmer brick color and blend it onto your eyes.
2. Pick the second lightest and apply it to the lid.
3. pick a bit darker color and apply on crease
4. use the darkest colors in an inverted v on the outer corners of the eye to give it dimension.
5. Take the darkest color and a damp eyeliner brush and apply as an eyeliner on the top and bottom lashes
6. Use it as a blush sweeping it onto the apples of the cheeks.
7. Use it on lips. Dip a lip brush into one of the shades you like and pat it onto lips. Apply a clear gloss over it.
8. Add it to highlight areas of the face. I like the lightest shade along the cheekbones, on the bow of the top lip, on the outer corners of the mouth, on the inner corners of the eye, and anywhere else i'd like to add light. If you get one of the bronze ones it can also set off a tan on your legs and body by dipping a large brush and swirling it into all the colors to shimmer and "pop" the tan.
