How To Make Colors Work For You
Think Pink
Pink's one color you can really get carried away with - it never goes out of fashion and you can use it on your eyes, cheeks, lips and nails. Do be careful when using pink Eye Shadow though, because it can make your eyes look bloodshot if you do not watch out. Either cool the pink down by toning it with matt lilac shadow, or use a matt rosy
shade over your whole eye area to light up your eyes, and save the shocking pink for your lips and nails.
Or if you prefer a soft, pretty look, like the model in the picture shown below, then stick to pastels. Dust rosy pink shadow over the whole of the eyelids and then define with dark brown eye liner smudged along your upper and lower lashes. Stick to dusky pink lipstick to make your eyes the main focus of the make-up.
Red Hot
You cannot go wrong with red lips and nails for a touch of Hollywood-style glamour. It's pretty easy to do and everyone can carry it off. Just make sure you choose the right tone of red to suit you. If your skin tone is warm, then you can go for orange or tomato reds. Cool complexions look best with blue or purple-toned red. If your skin is very pale or very dark then you are lucky because you can carry off most shades of red.
A color like brick red can look sensational for eye make-up, mixed with shades like charcoal or khaki, and combined with tawny cheeks and lips.
Down To Earth
Browns do not have to be boring, you know. If you are adventurous, there are plenty of tones to choose from, and most importantly of all, they suit everyone. Browns make blue eyes look brighter, warm up sallow skin, and show up well on tan skin of used the right way. Brown eye shadow can create a natural look, but if you want it to be more dramatic for the evening, look out for a slightly shimmery shadows and tone your basic brown with golds, coppers and oranges to warm things up.
When buying colored eye shadow, do not be fooled by the color you see in the package because it will look totally different once it's on your skin. For instance, red eye shadow can go on as a rich cerise pink which looks brilliant.
Experiment with different textures as well as colours. Matt eye shadows give the brightest, most intense colors, but you can go for various mixtures of metallic and frosted shadow which look shimmery and rich.
Take care to build up colors gradually, making sure you use a small flat-edged brush to do it. If you like eye pencils, stick to using them for lining and defining, again making sure you blend away any hard lines.

How to make mineral eye shadow last longer?
My eye lids are a little bit on the oily side. I recently started using mineral eye shadow, but I'm not sure if I am using it correctly.
I am applying concealer on my lids (my lids/under eyes are little dark) and then I apply my eye shadow w/ a brush.
My eye shadow only lasts about 2-3 hours.
Am i applying it correctly? How can I make it last longer?

They are MIRACLE workers.. your eyeshadow will look as good at the end of the day as it did when you first put it on. They are both in the range of $17, but one tube of either will last you 6 months or longer.
