Shimmer Powders For The Body: How To Use
Application Tips:
For best results, your skin should be dry (no moisturizing cream residue).
Important: Apply body shimmer powders before dressing to avoid powder sparkles falling onto clothing.
Brush on body shimmer powders using light strokes, layering more powder until desired effect is achieved. You can dust across collarbone and shoulders for a glowing appearance.
Avoid using body shimmer powders on the face, as they may appear too harsh or glittery. Since most shimmer powders are equipped with a larger brush for use on the body, they are too difficult to use on the face and dust the entire face in shimmer (which isn't flattering!). Instead, try shimmering Blushes, frosty Eye Shadows or loose sparkling Eye Shadow Dusts, which are designed to be applied to the face and easier to control. Avoid over-application of shimmer makeup if you're having a photoshoot.

what is the best foundation or Face Powder to get if you have a fair amount of wrinkles?
I've got a fair amount of wrinkles, and when i apply either foundation or face powder, it seems to accentuate my wrinkles, rather than hiding them, can anyone suggest a brand of foundation, or face powder which will conceal my wrinkles, not make them more noticeable, and should i use a Liquid Foundation, or a pressed compact powder, or both, please help, i'm 41 and don't know much about makeup

Hmm...join the crowd. I myself and many other women ask this same question....and you will notice there are many out there that should ask this question.
After spending a ridiculous amount of money myself on this very question at a posh and expensive salon, you will benefit from the pain my pocketbook.
Refrain from any cosmedics that offer a "mate finish" and let go of your face powders. These all magnify those marvelous wrinkles and creases we worked so hard to get over the years.
In our 40's we now need to focus on a "dewy look" which means we have lost that. How do we get that back? Our main focus for the future of our skin is MOISTURE and Protect....and teach our girls to do this now before they have to.
Look for make-up with moisture. Revlon makes a great one and if you must top off with powder do only the "T-Zone."
I spent an entire morning at Nordstroms looking at "light diffusing products" meant to help us persuade others that our wrinkles are not as bad as they are. It was interesting that these products ranged from $35 up to $250. I asked my dermatologist how to decide which is the best investment and he said..."NONE..buy this-- GENIE INSTANT LINE SMOOTHER" I found it online and have basically became in love with it. It is affordable enough to use not just on my face.
Get a good moisturizer...avoid powder if you can...and become dewy. A friend of mine that does models for add agencies told me that as we age, less is more. Go less on the harsh color eyeshadows, smudge the line on eye liner unless it is a night function, and go for a more delicate color on lips during the day.
Do your make-up under whatever light you will be seen in. Florescent lights if that is what they have at work. Using your makeup mirror can be a huge mistake if that is not similar to the light you plan to be seen in All Day. My friends in college discovered this by accident as we all showed up for an event looking like we had been planning our halloween costumes. The beautiful brown we all used looked burndt orange in daylight.
My secret trick...I use a cover-up creme with a skin tone three times darker than my actual shade- as a eye make-up. It gives me a hint of color, doesn't crease, and later on toward the evening I can put a color on top of it and it acts as a great base.
I drink tons of water a day. Always wear sunscreen. And I drink a secret concoction my great granny always drank...and she had beautiful skin even when she died at the age of 102.
What is it? Water boiled with barley, strained, add lemon, chill, drink. I must be doing something right. Nobody ever guesses my real age which is 45...they usually say I must be 30.
