Spring 2009 Makeup Trends
When spring rolls around what will you be wearing? Winter clothing is shed for more colorful apparel that is also lightweight. When the weather gets warm everyone wants to step out looking their best. Here is what they'll be wearing on their faces this spring.
Do you have a favorite facial feature? If it's your eyes, we've got some advice for you. The smoky look has resurfaced for another season. Give that alluring mysterious look the time it's due. It can be worn at work or during evening fun. Flirty eye shadows and dark liners will keep them guessing.
Want the smoky look but don't know how to get it? Start by applying a dark shade of eye liner to your upper and lower eye lids along the lash line. On the upper lid, use a metallic or pastel shade of color. Smudge the two together on the upper lid and slightly smudge the lower liner to create the look you want.
False eyelashes go well with the smoky look. Avoid going too big unless the party warrants it. When you apply false eyelashes, keep the longer lashes towards the outer eye area.
You can tone down your smoky look during the day with softer features overall. Keep your face looking natural with mineral Makeup Foundation and a hint of color with mineral blush. Find lip color in shades of pink and peach. A lip liner will accentuate the shape of your lips for that kissable appearance.
When the lips go soft so do the eyes. Instead of metallic colors to grace those lids, choose soft pastels like lilac and lavender. Stick to one coat of mascara and make it waterproof.
You can add color if you like to live on the edge. Dull skin can be brought back to life with pouty red lips. Complete that look with a swipe of blush just below the cheekbone, sweeping from the nose out towards the ears.
Darker tones are best left in winter. Embrace the light for the spring season. Add a bit of color but don't sacrifice your natural look.

How to get fresh and soft looking skin? no nasty makeup feeling?
I have generally clear skin.. I have Oily Skin, and i hate it!!! wearing powder makes my skin feel nasty after about 4 hours.. how to i look "neat", "clean" , "fresh" and beautiful?? thanks alot!
im used to wearing Liquid Foundation, powder. i want to look clean and neatish
yes i have some oil blotting sheets. they are wonderful. Thanks alot guys, im deffinately goin to go buy some mineral makeup! 
I am going to be the rebel here and say don't go with mineral makeup. With oily skin, it can look cakey in a few hours, especially the Bare Minerals Mineral Veil. If you don't like wearing powder, how will wearing 2 layers of heavy Powder Make you feel better?
I recommend a long wearing oil-Free Liquid foundation. If you are into drugstore stuff, try Revlon Colorstay. If you like more prestige brands, I have the new DiorSkin Forever foundation and I love, love, love it.
You can also try a primer under your foundation, I use Smashbox Photo Finish primer, there is a new Maybelline foundation with a primer attached to it ... I think that one is suppose to last 16 hours. The primer stops the sebum (skin oils) from interfering with your makeup. On days I am not wearing makeup, I just wear the primer to keep my oil in check.
And yes, use the oil blotting sheets at lunch if you still need them. It is so much better than putting more powder on and looking cakey. Don't forget to wash with a gentle cleanser and use an oil-free moisturizer for oily skin twice a day.
