How to Get the Most From Your Concealer
Aging is actually just in the mind. People can deal with the signs of aging doing countless of ways. With the many breakthroughs in the cosmetic industry, you do not have to worry about wrinkles and other skin blemishes because there is surely a product in the market that will help deal with your problems.
Aside from creams and moisturizers, one part of your beauty and anti-aging arsenal is the concealer. As soon as you reach the age of 30 (or younger if you are always sleep deprived), you must not go out of the house without putting on this blemish-eraser underneath your everyday makeup. If used correctly and appropriately, the concealer can make you look ten years younger. However, if used haphazardly and incorrectly, this makeup magic can make you look worse.
Here are some of the things you need to know about concealers:
Types Of Concealers
If you look at the makeup counter in the department store, you will realize that there are so many classes of concealers. They come in creams, sticks, and wands with brushes. Do not freeze and freak out if you have no idea what to buy. It would be wise to talk with the sales attendant because they know their products well and can guide you on what type to buy.
As a general rule, stick concealer is the most common and the easiest to apply and use. If you do not know how to use a concealer, it would be best to choose this type. Another user-friendly type is the cream concealer, which is usually packaged in a tube. If you need more coverage, this is the best for you. What's more, cream concealers also provide you a natural-looking finish.
If you have Dry Skin, the best type of concealer is the dry one because it gives proper coverage for your face. However, if your main problem is your Under Eye dark circles, you will be better off buying a cream concealer.
Choosing The Right Shade
Many women think that the lightest possible shade is the best choice for concealers. In most cases, however, picking the color that is three or four shades lighter than your original skin color makes you look worse and draws more attention to the very light shade underneath your eyes. A shade that is one or two tints lighter than your skin is usually the best.
Various Color Correctors
Sometimes, you need colored concealers or correctors to help target more specific problems. You might find violet, green or blue concealers odd, but these shades are actually created by experts to help counterbalance certain skin problems.
If you have a cool skin tone, peach and apricot concealers are usually effective in brightening your skin. For special occasions, using a silver hued concealer can also make wonders for your skin. For those with a warm skin tone, the best bet for you is the yellow-colored concealer. However, if you are not sure whether your skin tone is cool or warm, choose the bronze color corrector. This is also ideal during the summer because it will give you a sun-kissed appearance.
If you are suffering from redness, be sure to try the green one and for people who have sallow skin color, lilac or rose are appropriate. If your skin color leans more to an orange hue(or if you overdid your self-suntan application) you may want to tone down your shade by using blue color corrector.
It is important to note, however, that no amount of concealer or makeup can perfectly hide imperfections, such as puffy eyes, dark circles and wrinkles. So aside from investing in the best cover-up makeup, you also need to use moisturizers or eye creams to make sure that your blemishes and problems are resolved. How do you use the Makeup Forever concealer palette?
I have the No.3 palette. I have an olive complexion. I've seen the one for fair skin used on someone but that one has different colors like green. I remember that all of the 5 colors were used.Mine doesn't have green, just 5 different shades of tan and one that is really dark. Can anyone tell me how to use it and what shade to use on what imperfection? Thanks!
Dont forget, make up forever was created for artists. So the concelor palette is the perfect example of that! You may use some of the colors, but not all of them. They have a palette is for correction. Which might be what your friend has that has green in it ( green take out the red in your skin) but they also have palettes for skin types. Put a darker color than your foundation under your eyes. It doesnt have to try as hard to cover dark lines, etc. Use a color close to skin tone for other blemishes. The ones you dont feel like you are using, put them on your eyes as a base for your eyeshadow (prevents creasing and eyeshaodow is more vibrant) Like I said. You may not use all of them but you will figure it out as you go along!
