Perhaps the only female designer in the first ever Van Heusen India Men's Week who is going to showcase her collection individually, Rajvi Mohan has managed to create a distinctive design aesthetic of sophisticated, fun and quirky designs for the discerning male client who lives and works in a global space. Her style is a series of stories juxtaposed to create a new fashion idiom. For her VHIMW Spring/Summer '10 collection, Rajvi focuses extensively on lightweight and relaxed silhouettes to keep with her summer theme 'Presenting the Royals of Surf'. Forget a boring three-piece black suit! Enter cool and relaxed jackets and shirts that you can wear through the summer whether it is a wedding, a beach party or in a nightclub. Keeping with her signature style, the collection is all about mixed fabrics, shocking block printing, imaginative buttons, interesting collars and necklines. The colours are reflective of a faded summer dream of the sun kissed 'royals of surf' from their fantasy filled land of relaxed and charming days and nights! As the theme is inspired by 'Royal Summer', the favourite colours of the collection are navy blue and purple.
When asked about the look and feel of the model, the beautiful designer shared, "FDCI's panel has chosen a well rounded selection of models. From the images and details received, a lot of attention has been given to try and get the right looks and faces this season" for this collection the target audience is men between the age of 20 and 40 years with attitude and confidence. This is all about the collection but what is the one factor according to the designer that can accelerate the growth of Indian fashion industry "The chance that younger designers are given a chance to evolve and show their skills and designs. The industry will only grow once the realization sets in, that the market is big enough for all parties, right from design to production and retail, all sectors must invest in every step, to reach full potential" she signs off. When it comes to Kotwara for men, it's all about the understated elegance of an evolved Indian style and a universal appeal that enamoured the world. Meera & Muzaffar Ali of Kotwara are back and will be showcasing their menswear line at Van Heusen India Men's Week. While they are known for their traditional touch, when ask about the unique feature of their collection they replied, "This time, one can see the influence of the city of Awadh in our clothes."
The exquisite craftsman is going to showcase a line of traditional Sherwanis, Achkan, Daglas, Choghas, Kurtas, and Angharkha along with modern derivatives of the Bandgala and variations of the waistcoat. "We have also created a special version of shirts which will give that chic look to the models," Meera revealed. Textures always play a vital role when it comes to traditional and ethnic wear. In this collection, the designers have applied the Awadhi techniques of Aari which highlight and create subtle textures reminiscent of Art Deco, Central Asian and Persian motifs which have carved out their place in the Indian grammar of design since a long time. While on one side the Kotwara line has always been a pleasure to see on the ramp there is no doubt that the designers and craftsman put in a lot of hard work to create those mesimerizing garments. Dipped in a colour palette of Ivory, Black, Grey and Metallic shades, the collection has gone through a countless number of treatments like machine textures, hand embroidered with aari, zardosi and chikan work, quilting and applique. With special attention to fabric, the collection has been created of woven fabrics in silk, wool and mulmul. The collection is aimed at a discerning man who prefers a Classic Timeless Look. Need help with Base Foundation for pale skin?
I am very very pale. I have acne prone combination skin (dry and oily both in areas). I have had a really hard time finding any make up that is not too dark or orange for me. I need medium to Full Coverage because of my acne problems, but something that is Oil Free and won't clog pores. Right now I am using Max Factor Silk Perfection Pale Porecelain & Covergirl Freshlook in Ivory and mixing the two, and it is still way to dark. I am on a very limited budget and cannot afford the expensive stuff. I have read on here about mixing regular make up with clown make up in white. What is the clown make up made of and would it make my acne worse. I need help, please answer if you have any advice.
